Partnership Knives
One of my longtime mentors sent me this recently. He’s started a biz making handmade knives and when we were taking about the process, he just offered to send one my way. Knives are amazing tools. I probably use a knife daily, if not multiple times… You use them to slice, partitioning a piece of something away from its greater whole. To cut, could be to open a box, or a bag. To spread, gotta get that PB to cover the gluten free bread completely. Otherwise that sandwich gunna be DRY! Partnership roles can be like the knives of the org. Sometimes you gotta slice away a piece of a problem from the greater whole. Makes it more consumable. Other times you have to cut, to brake open a new path forward. Whether than be through a boundary, or a process. Then other times you come in to help spread the impact of the people, product, process over the dry spots. Helping bring the taste and flavor of the company to the places that need it most. It can get bloody, even if you’re careful. As I have said before (🔗 BBposts). But, nothing’s sharper than a person, organization, company effectively using partnerships! It’s worth the caution and practice.
